My son/daughter feels his/her course is too easy. Can he/she upgrade to the next course?

Our coaches take detailed notes each week about student performance and will be the best person to make actionable recommendations to you and your child about what is best for him/her.

While in the past we have had some students 'skip' ahead levels in our program, it more often than not results in them struggling considerably in the next course because they have missed some critical lessons, skills, or ideas that they skipped over when moving levels. Particularly when a student is young but shows great potential (generally high confidence speaking, quick thinking, and stronger current events awareness when compared to peers), this is a particularly important student to get the fundamentals or foundations correct. A student like this will likely have great long-term potential for success and taking shortcuts to try to maximize that success in grades 5 or 6 often times (though we know, not always) comes back to hurt them as they get into later grades. So generally we do not recommend students skip levels unless specifically recommended to by coaches.  We have confidence in our placement test process and coach recommendations to choose the most suitable courses for students.  During the first few weeks of the season, students are generally just getting accustomed to the course and their teammates, so it can be more challenging to truly determine the level of each student.

We encourage you to schedule a meeting with the coach via E-mail, and explain your concern to him/her.  Coaches take detailed notes each week about student performance and will be the best person to make actionable recommendations to you and your child about what is best for him/her.

Additionally, please take advantage of our end-of-season competition.  During this time, students can mix and match with other students of different levels in order to challenge themselves further.
